Local motorists are being reminded that from 11 to 13 March 2014 the Hillend to Fordell road will be closed for repairs.
The badly potholed stretch of road is to be ‘patched up’ by Fife Council.
The B916 Clockluinie Road running from Hillend to Fordell has caused motorists who regularly use the road some concern over potholes and damaged road surface.
Inverkeithing and Dalgety Bay Conservative Councillor Dave Dempsey has welcomed news that work is to be carried out.
Cllr Dempsey said: “The state of the roads and pavements is the biggest source of complaints from the public. Among those who use it, the B916 is singled out. It’s on the narrow side for the traffic it carries. It’s windy and up and down. There are lumps missing from the edges so that traffic keeps to the middle. It’s a bus route and meeting a bus on one of the windier sections isn’t fun. Patching won’t solve all the problems but it’s a step in the right direction.”
The road was previously to be closed for patching works between 8am and 4pm on the 24th, 25th & 26th of February 2014 but the dates were amended.
