A former Dalgety Bay councillor has been appointed to lead an Edinburgh-based homeless charity.
Gavin Yates, a resident of Dalgety Bay, is to take over at Homeless Action.
Mr Yates is a former journalist, political adviser and worked as head of communications and campaigns at the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations.
He said: “This is a great organisation that has an enviable track record of delivery. I will seek to meet as many of our stakeholders in the coming weeks and ensure that the issue of homelessness never slips from the agenda of every layer of government.
“Everyone deserves a decent home and it’s vital that as a society we pull together to ensure that homelessness becomes a relic of the past rather than a stain on our present.”
He is taking over from Robert Aldridge who has retired.
