Candidates line up for Fife’s council election in May

Candidates in the upcoming council election in May for the Inverkeithing and Dalgety Bay ward have been out campaigning ahead of the vote.

So far, candidates confirmed are, in surname alphabetical order and pictured clockwise:

David Barrett (SNP)
Dave Dempsey (Conservative)
Lesley Laird (Labour)
Alice McGarry (SNP
Helen Cannon-Todd (Independent)**not pictured – no photo currently available

The next Council elections will take place on Thursday, 4 May 2017.

The deadline for nominations for candidates standing in the poll is 4pm on Wednesday 29 March.

Fife currently has 78 councillors representing 23 multi-member wards.

However, following a review of local government council wards by the Local Government Boundary commission for Scotland, from this election onwards, Fife will have 75 councillors representing 22 wards.

13 of these wards will be represented by three councillors and nine will be represented by four councillors.
