After three months of auditioning, a Dalgety Bay performer is to join Scottish Youth Theatre’s  first ever National Ensemble.

Daniel Webb, 20, made it in to the final 24.

The talented performer was unveiled alongside the other selected members of Scottish Youth Theatre National Ensemble.

Back in December 2016, when Scottish Youth Theatre celebrated its 40th birthday, the company opened registrations for the Ensemble, inviting 16 to 25 year-olds who live, work, study or have family in Scotland to register for an open audition.

Over 130 young people put themselves forward, including Dan.

He said:  “When I was told that I had been accepted to the National Ensemble I was over the moon.

“I’m so excited to be working with new theatre makers from around Scotland and I’m very intrigued at the idea of travelling around Scotland for the workshops.

“My main interests are acting and singing so I could not be happier that I’ve been accepted to be part of this fantastic opportunity and very much look forward to being a part of the company.”

The aspiring actor’s love of theatre began when he was cast school play’s as the Lion in the The Wizard of Oz, and Fagin in Oliver.
